She became a teenage star even before announcing her first film, while he chose the unconventional route of making a debut with an Iranian filmmaker. He has no formal training in acting, but she rebelled against her parents‘ wishes to pursue an acting course in LA. We are talking about none other than the much hyped star kids, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The two rising stars play the popular #AskMeAnything with each other exclusively for The Quint!
Excerpts from the Game:
Ishaan: Two favourite film dialogues?
Janhvi: “It is notttttt! That's one of my favourite film dialogues. 'I did not', from 'The Room' and probably, there's this one dialogue of Julia Roberts' from 'Notting Hill', where she says, 'I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.'”
Janhvi: Three things that are a complete put off in a girl?
Ishaan: “If she is arrogant, if she smells bad.”
Ishaan: Three people on your speed dial?
Janhvi: “I don't have speed dial, but I think the three most recent people that I call are - My father, you and Medha, my manager!”
Janhvi: Four adult things you’ve done?
Ishaan: “I've watched a lot of adult movies. I mean by movies, wait movies with the rating adult, not like adult movies like adult movies. No, not like that! Traveled on my own a lot. OK, I don't think there are a lot of adult things that I do!”
Ishaan: Four qualities that impress you in a boy?
Janhvi: “If he can make me laugh, if he is really passionate about something and just if he is a really humble person and really simple. He needs to come to the gym with me because I enjoy it!”
Jahnvi: Five annoying things about me?
Ishaan: “One is that she really likes to fight, so if in a significant period without a fight, she will pull it out of nowhere. She doesn't listen to me about her health, I think she neglects her health. I find that very annoying and I think she over works herself physically, she goes to the gym even when it's not, you know like when she is physically exhausted and I don't think that's productive, but she still does it. That's three... ya that's it. Sometimes she's too dreamy, she is not thoughtful, that's not true but I think it's mainly that she neglects herself, which is not cool.”
Ishaan: Five annoying things about me?
Janhvi: “Five things that I find annoying about him, that he loves to instruct at the gym, he just gets carried away in his emotions sometimes but that's not annoying, I think even that is endearing. It's not annoying but he just doesn't know when to stop eating, when he starts eating.”
The two newcomers will be seen in romantic drama film, 'Dhadak’ directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios starring, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles. The film is a remake of the 2016 Marathi language film 'Sairat'. It is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2018.
