1. Watch: Deepika Padukone Launches Hema Malini’s Biography

Bollywood’s Dream Girl, Hema Malini turned 69 today and also launched her biography, Beyond the Dream Girl at the JW Marriott, Juhu. Penned by journalist turned writer Ram Kamal Mukherjee, the book chronicles the journey of veteran actress turned BJP parliamentarian, and contains a short foreword drafted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

The event was star-studded with the who’s who of Bollywood present to celebrate the success of Malini’s rise in cinema. To add to the excitement surrounding it, the launch was carried out Deepika Padukone. Daughters, Esha and Aahana with their respective spouses were also present.

Abhishek Varman of 2 States fame is directing Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma in a new ad. A few shots of the couple were previously leaked by fan pages a few days ago as well.

Virat and Anushka are shooting for a clothing brand and make for a very pretty picture!

Jai Rajputana Sangh is threatening to burn cinema halls if Sanjay Leela Bhansali does not hold a special screening of Padmavati for them.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the members of the Jai Rajputana Sangh on Saturday held a meeting with the management of cinema halls and multiplexes in Jaipur and discussed the screening of the film.

“We won’t tolerate any distortion of history and if any romantic relationship is shown between queen Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji, we will burn cinema halls screening the film,” said Bhanwar Singh Reta, founder, Jai Rajputana Sangh on Sunday.

4. Mallika Dua & Zakir Khan Fail The Great Indian ‘TRP’ Challenge

It seems that comedians Zakir Khan, Hussain Dalal and Mallika Dua who are judges on Akshay Kumar’s show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge have been asked to leave the show owing to low TRPs.

According to a report in Mid-day, the comedians who rose to fame on the web have been replaced by Bollywood celebrities, Shreyas Talpade and Sajid Khan.

The last few seasons were a big draw. But, this season didn’t kick off on a great note. The makers arrived at the decision after seeing the dismal TRPs (TV rating).

5. The Beginning of the Anupam Kher Era: Chairman Visits FTII

Newly appointed Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Chairperson Anupam Kher today visited the campus unannounced and promised the students that he is on their side.

In a live video on social media, Mr Kher revealed that he was on his way to FTII. He caught the guards, students and faculty by surprise when he walked the streets of the institute where he once studied around 40 years ago.

I am heading towards an institution where I had studied in 1978, which was very important for my foundation as an actor. And today, I have not informed anybody at this institute that I am coming, because I wanted to go back again as a student.
