Shree Narayan Singh is back with Batti Gul Meter Chalu starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. The director of this film is set to address another social issue just like he did in his previous blockbuster hit Toilet - Ek Prem Katha.

This time the story revolves around inflated light bills due to faulty meters in rural India. Actor Shahid Kapoor says his film Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a mainstream film in which humour is intertwined with issue-based commentary.

"I always feel that if you want to say something good then it must reach a wider audience and I think that's the talent of Shree (Narayan Singh) Sir because the title of his earlier film included the word ‘toilet' which can put off people but it could reach such a large number of people."

Here is a video where viewers can be seen sharing their thoughts after the first show of the movie. Most audiences termed it as an average film. The movie has received criticism for its overly tedious narrative and long duration. But the viewers seemed to have loved the drama depicted in the courtroom scenes throughout the movie.

Shahid Kapoor will be seen in a lead role in a film again after Padmaavat.
