The much awaited teaser of Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju released today creating a huge buzz. The man of the hour, Ranbir Kapoor was present at the launch of the teaser along with director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Ranbir, who is returning to the big screen after almost one year, looked super excited as he has been working on the project for a long time and is a huge fan of Sanjay Dutt. Watch the teaser launch below:
When Ranbir was asked what was the toughest part for him to do in the film, he said:
“The most difficult part was to understand his story. Make-up and costume are the most easy parts, looking like someone is no big deal that can be taken care of. But to understand character’s soul and where he came from is the deal.”Ranbir Kapoor, Actor
As we all know, Sanjay Dutt’s life has been full of ups and downs but these came as a shock to people even like Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra who have known him for years. Hirani, who has worked with Sanjay on movies like Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai, said:
“Sanjay gave us a lot of content and we filmmakers are content hungry. Stringing the entire life was a task. Like once he and Barack Obama were at an event at Chicago and people came running to him calling him “Munna Bhai” as Munna Bhai had released at that time.”Rajkumar Hirani, Producer
Ranbir Kapoor, who looks like a replica of Sanjay Dutt in the teaser, was asked about the kind of preparation he did for the role.
“I had always seen the ‘Khalnayak’ Sanjay, but then I read the script and understood his life journey. I read through it and then discovered that side like how he fought the drug addiction at the age of 22, and the passing away of his mother just two days prior the premiere of his debut film, his relationship with his father, his terrorist controversy, the controversy about guns. I am 35 today but even when he was 18, he had lived five times more than I have.
Sanju is slated to release on 29 June 2018.
