1. It Really Puts Me Off: Alia Bhatt on Kathua Gang Rape

At the song launch of Ae Watan, a song from Raazi, Alia Bhatt was asked her opinion about the gruesome gang rape of an 8-year old girl in Kathua. The actor feels strongly about the incident and asked the public to condemn it.

“All over the country the people are angry. It is disgraceful, shameful, as a girl, a human, a resident and a human being I feel shameful. I was reading about it but it really puts me off. We should condemn this.” says Alia Bhatt.

2. Not ‘Shiddat’, Varun, Alia & Madhuri’s Epic Drama Is Now ‘Kalank’

Putting all the speculations to rest, Abhishek Varman’s epic drama set in the 1940s is titled Kalank. Boasting an ensemble cast of Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor, the inception of the idea by Karan Johar and his late father Yash Johar goes back 19 years. The period drama will also see Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment collaborate.

Sridevi was the first choice for the film, which was reportedly titled Shiddat earlier but after her demise in February, she was replaced by Madhuri Dixit.

3. ‘Bluffmaster!’ Duo PeeCee & Abhishek Bachchan Set to Reunite?

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Shonali Bose, Margarita with a Straw director, is set to direct a film inspired by the true-life of Aisha Chaudhary, a motivational speaker and author of My Little Epiphanies, who was diagnosed with an immune deficiency disorder and with pulmonary fibrosis when she was 13.

She also bagged the title of INK Fellow consequent to her speeches in the 2011 and 2013 INK Conferences. A TEDX Pune speaker, she fought for her life, till she succumbed to her disease at the age of 18.

4. Will ‘Bhavesh Joshi - Superhero’ Relaunch Harshvardhan Kapoor?

Anil Kapoor’s son and actor Harshvardhan Kapoor didn’t exactly get a dream launch with his debut film Mirzya - but Vikramaditya Motwane’s next titled Bhavesh Joshi - Superhero might just give his career a new life. The first teaser of the film is out and it’s intriguing. The entire 1 minute 20 second teaser mostly consists of shots in the dark of the night, and you can’t see any of the characters clearly, these guys really know what a teaser should do.

Bhavesh Joshi - Superhero seems to be the story of an ordinary young guy who turns into a vigilante - think Kick-Ass but in a more serious and intense zone. The film is scheduled to release on 25 May.

5. Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter Celebrate the ‘Dhadak’ Wrap up

Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter and Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor are all set to make a big splash in Bollywood with their film Dhadak. The newcomers finally wrapped the shooting of their film on Tuesday. Producer Karan Johar shared a picture of Ishaan and Janhvi hugging the director of Dhadak, Shashank Khaitan on Twitter calling them the “warmest trio at Dharma Productions”.

The team also reportedly had a party on Tuesday night to celebrate the completion of the production of Dhadak. While Dhadak will be Janhvi’s debut film, it will be Ishaan’s second film after Beyond the Clouds, which releases this Friday. Dhadak is scheduled for a 20 July release.
