Legendary Bengali filmmaker Mrinal Sen has passed away of age-related issues on Sunday 30 December at 10:30 am. He was 95 years old and is survived by his son Kunal.

Born on May 14, 1932, Mrinal was a Padma Bhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke awardee. He was known for leading a new wave of parallel cinema in India with films like Ek Din Achanak, Padatik and Mrigayaa. Mrinal made his directorial debut with Raat Bhore in 1955.

3. ‘Simmba’ Box Office Day 2: The Ranveer Actioner Earns Rs 44 Crore

Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba showed good growth on its first Saturday, collecting around Rs 24 crore on day 2. As of today the film has collected a total of around Rs 44 crore. Rohit Shetty’s latest is expected to grow further over New Year’s weekend.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Simmba roars on Day 2… While Mumbai circuit is exceptional, the other circuits that were slightly low on Day 1 have also picked up… Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 12.60%… Expected to score big numbers today… Fri 20.72 cr, Sat 23.33 cr. Total: ₹ 44.05 cr. India biz.”

Actor Sonam Kapoor says she is a "huge advocate" for LGBTQI rights, and hopes to see a world without labels one day.

"I'm a huge advocate for LGBTQI (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex). For me, it is one of the most important things that I fight for and I hope for when there is a country and a world without labels," Sonam said in a statement.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have painting the town red and giving everyone a serious case of couple goals ever since their grand wedding in Italy. Everything from their January release Padmaavat to their November wedding has had the country watching with a-baited breath. Photos and video from their wedding went viral the second they dropped. Their nuptials were followed by multiple receptions in Bangalore and Delhi plus a star-studded Bollywood party.

However, since Ranveer was busy with his Friday release Simmba, the couple had been postponing their honeymoon. Well, the shubh ghadi were spotted on Saturday night 29 December at the airport heading out for a much-deserved vacation.
