It’s Gandhi Jayanti today, and Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to send greetings. Amitabh Bachchan took this special occasion to announce the release of the book, The Swachh Bharat Revolution. This book is a compendium of essays - with names such as Arun Jaitley, Amitabh Kant, Ratan Tata, Sadhguru, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Tavleen Singh, Bill Gates and many more, along with a message from Prime Minister Modi - that celebrates a historic national achievement. Amitabh also said that the essay written by him is close to his heart.

2. I Was Wrong: Paresh Rawal Apologises to Dr Kafeel Khan

Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has apologised to Dr Kafeel Khan, who was was charged in the Gorakhpur BRD Medical College tragedy and has now been acquitted. “There is no shame in apologising when one is wrong ... I apologise to @drkafeelkhan,” Paresh wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, 2 October.

3. Can You Guess What Lata Mangeshkar’s First Instagram Post Is?

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar has finally joined Instagram. Lata, who recently turned 90, made made her debut on the photo-and-video sharing platform on Monday night.

She announced the news of her debut on Twitter and shared the link to her Instagram profile. “Namaskar. Aaj pehli baar aap sabse Instagram pe jud rahi hun. (Namaskar. Today I have joined Instagram to connect with you all)” she wrote.

4. ‘Ujda Chaman’ Accused of Copying Jokes From Comedian

The upcoming Bollywood comedy Ujda Chaman has been accused of copying jokes from a stand-up comedian’s performance.

The trailer for the film, which stars Sunny Singh as a 30 year-old man suffering from premature balding, was released on Tuesday 1 October. On Wednesday, comedian Vinay Sharma posted a video which compares lines from the trailer to jokes from Vinay’s stand-up act, which also deals with balding. There appear to be quite a few similarities between the two.

5. Hrithik, Tiger, Varun Attend Special Screening of ‘War’

Ahead of the release of upcoming action thriller film War, Bollywood celebrities attended the two special screenings of the film organised at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. War stars Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in lead roles. War also stars Vani Kapoor and releases in theatres on 2 October. Apart from the actors starring in the film, Rani Mukerji, Varun Dhawan, Sonali Bendre, Suzanne Khan were also spotted attending the screening.
