1. Ayushmann’s ‘Article 15’ Maligns Brahmins, Alleges UP Group

Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Article 15 has earned the ire of the Parshuram Sena, a Brahmin outfit, who have alleged that the film shows the Brahmin community in a bad light.

The Anubhav Sinha directorial is loosely inspired by the rape and murder of two Dalit women, which took place in Badaun in Uttar Pradesh. In the trailer, Ayushmann portrays a police officer who is sent to a village in UP to investigate the rape and murder of two young Dalit girls who are found hanging from a tree.

Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgan passed away recently. Kajol took to Instagram to pen an emotional note for her father-in-law. She wrote, “In happier times ... .

3. Evidence Has Been Tampered With, Alleges Karan Oberoi’s Bandmate

Actor Karan Oberoi, who was arrested on 6 May on allegations of rape, remains in judicial custody, after two bail pleas were rejected. In the latest development in the case, the Oshiwara police have arrested the complainant’s lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan, for purportedly staging an attack on her.

Sherrin Varghese, who was part of Indi pop outfit Band of Boys with Oberoi, has come out in support of his former bandmate.

4. Dhanush to Remake Ayushmann-Starrer ‘Andhadhun’ in Tamil

Dhanush was recently in Mumbai to launch his debut Hollywood film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir. He admitted that he is keen to remake the immensely successful Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Andhadhun. He told Mumbai Mirror that it is a brilliant film and he would not mind remaking the thriller in Tamil. “We have already started the process of acquiring the rights of the film”, he said.

5. Used to Carry Salman’s Picture in My Pocket: Jackie Shroff

Ahead of Salman Khan’s Eid release Bharat, Jackie Shroff got candid about his relationship with the actor. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he affectionately recalled how he tried to help Salman land roles when he was starting out, going as far as carrying pictures with him to show producers. Jackie also spoke of how starstruck Salman was by him “He was my big fan and he liked my jeans, my boots. He thinks I am god,” he told the publication.
