After Pati, Patni Aur Woh, Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for Dostana 2, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya in lead roles. Produced by Karan Johar, the film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The shoot was scheduled in Delhi for this week, but according to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the thick blanket of smog made it difficult for the cast and crew to breathe. Hence, the filming was stalled.
A source told the website that the air pollution in the Capital resulted in very low visibility. “It was impossible for the cast and the crew to breathe. Added to that was the low visibility due to which the camera could not capture shots properly.”
He also added that the team decided to postpone the Delhi schedule until the weather improves.
A number of Bollywood celebrities have expressed concern over the worsening air quality in Delhi. On 2 November, Arjun Rampal, after just landing in Delhi, tweeted about how the air was unbreathable. He wrote, “Just landed in Delhi, the air here is just unbreathable.Absolutely disgusting what has become of this city. The pollution is visible, dense smog. People arein masks. How much more disaster does one need to wake up and do the right thing? Tell ourselves we are wrong. #DelhiBachao”
Priyanka Chopra, who was in Delhi for the shoot of her upcoming film The White Tiger, shared a selfie wearing a pollution mask. The caption read, “Shoot days for #thewhitetiger. It’s so hard to shoot here right now that I can’t even imagine what it must be like to live here under these conditions. We r blessed with air purifiers and masks. Pray for the homeless. Be safe everyone. #airpollution #delhipollution #weneedsolutions #righttobreathe”
Before the shoot of Dostana 2 commenced, Kartik Aaryan made sure to seek the blessing of the one and only Karan Johar. He took to social media to share a photo of him and KJo in which Kartik is touching Karan’s feet and the latter is blessing him. Kartik is dressed in a red sweatshirt with denims and Karan is making his own style statement with a funky t-shirt.
In the caption, Kartik has called this a “Dharma traditio”, “Maa da laadla #Chandigarh nikal gaya #Dostana2 !! (Mother’s son has left for Chandiarh) The Dharma rivaaz (tradition) that all actors need to follow before starting a Dharma film @karanjohar ”
Dostana 2 is a sequel to 2008’s Dostana, which starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. The Tarun Mansukhani directorial was about two men who pretend to be a gay couple in order to rent an apartment. Trouble ensues when they both fall for the same girl.
