The makers of the upcoming Salman Khan starrer Bharat have shared a behind-the-scenes video from the film detailing the making of the circus scenes set in the 1960s. The ambitious drama follows Salman’s character across 5 decades and various occupations. In the 1960s set portion of Bharat, Salman plays a daredevil who performs stunts in The Great Russian Circus.

In the new video, we see a glimpse of all the work that went into building the circus for the film. The production actually built a full sized functioning circus, after tons of research into what circuses looked like in the 1960s in India. There were over 120 artistes and performers on set every day from all across the world. The costume designers worked overtime to fit all of them into period appropriate outfits.

Take a look at the making of video below.

Disha Patani plays a fellow performer and Salman’s likely love-interest in this segment of the film. Recently the song Slow Motion was released which features Salman and Disha showing off their moves in the circus. Salman plays a younger version of himself here and looks significantly leaner and digitally de-aged.

Bharat is a remake of award-winning South Korean film Ode to My Father, which is one of the country’s highest-grossing films. The movie spans several decades and traces the history of India through Salman Khan's character. Salman dons various avatars through the film, including that of a stuntman, miner and naval officer, and Katrina and Disha play his love interests.

Bharat has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and also stars Tabu, Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover. The film hits theatres on 5 June.
