In February 2019, Indian Air Force had conducted an airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan, just two weeks after a CRPF convoy collided with a car full of explosives in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. 40 CRPF soldiers were lost in the attack. The Indian government claimed that a Jaish-e-Mohammad terror facility had been targeted in Balakot.
