Ayushmann Khurrana is on a roll since 2015, with six consecutive box-office hits to his name. Will his next release, Bala, become the seventh one in the winning streak? The trade is positive that the film has good enough buzz going for itself to be added to the list.

Movie business analyst Girish Johar says that he expects the film to make “between Rs 8-10 crore on day one”. “I can see a 7th hit coming,” he predicts.

“If the reviews are great it could make more than Rs 10-crore too. But if reviews are bad it could do a little less on day one. But if all goes well it can easily make Rs 30 crore on the opening weekend,” he adds.

Bala’s estimated budget is around Rs 25 crore approximately, and is expected to release in 2000-plus screens.

Ayushmann’s last release, Dream Girl, became his career’s biggest hit, making Rs 141.30 crore in net domestic collections.

“Ayushmann has cracked the formula of telling taboo-breaking stories in a desi and quirky manner so entire families can go and watch.”

Here’s how much his last 6 flms have earned at the box office.

“Ayushmann, I can easily say that he has cracked the formula of telling taboo-breaking stories in a desi and quirky manner so entire families can go and watch. When you take a taboo subject and deal with it in a clean humour kind of way, that’s one of the best success formulas he has created for himself,” says Girish.

“He has hit six balls out of the park, and we expect him to hit the seventh one out of the park too.”

In Bala, Ayushmann plays the role of a man dealing with premature balding.
