After Akshay Kumar announced he will be recreating ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ with Katrina Kaif for Sooryavanshi, another iconic Raveena Tandon dance number is set to get a new lease of life. Diana Penty and Badshah will feature in a remixed version of ‘Shehar ki Ladki’ from Raveena’s 1996 film Rakshak for the upcoming Sonakshi Sinha starrer Khandaani Shafakhana.
The remix will be composed by Tanishk Bagchi and performed by Badshah and Tulsi Kumar. While the original song sequence was filmed outdoors, the new version will reportedly be set in a bar.
“‘Sheher ki Ladki’ is one of my favourite 1990s legendary tunes, and I couldn't have been happier singing and performing in the song for this film," said Badshah in a statement. "It will be a super fun experience recreating the magic with Diana on screen and I hope fans love my tribute to the track," he added.

Helmed by debutante director Shilpi Dasgupta, Khandaani Shafakhana stars Sonakshi Sinha, Fukrey actor Varun Sharma, and marks Badshah’s Bollywood debut. Sonakshi plays Baby Bedi who inherits her uncle’s sex clinic after he passes away. Though she is initially reluctant to run the clinic, she realises she is helping people, she decides to take it upon herself to dispel the stigma around sex. When her efforts don’t seem to be enough, she enlists the help of pop star Gabru Attack. The film hits theatres on 2 August.
