The trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming cop drama Article 15 is finally out and it is spine-chilling. With the Badaun rape case as the backdrop, the trailer gives us a shocking picture of caste politics that is prevalent in our country. Two Dalit girls are brutally raped and murdered. Ayushmann Khurrana, the upright cop, has to fight the politics of caste to get to the truth.
Earlier, the makers of the film have released one final teaser that further tells us exactly what to expect without actually giving away much.
The teaser dropped on Thursday morning begins with a voiceover, shedding light on India’s existing caste system, that ends abruptly and we come face-to-face with a uniform clad Ayushmann Khurrana telling us that our societal position does not “allow” us to watch the trailer any further. The Andhadhun actor then goes on to speak about how many Indians face such unjust discrimination every day and that we have only experienced a “trailer” of it today. He ends with the message that the actual trailer of the film will release in a few hours.

Article 15 is directed by Anubhav Sinha, who last directed the film Mulk. Mulk starred actors like Rishi Kapoor, Neena Gupta, Preteik Babbar and more.
“A very challenging film that needed an extraordinary actor like Ayushmann. Delighted to have him on board with an explosive bundle of such talented and acclaimed actors.”Anubhav Sinha, Filmmaker
Apart from what seems like an adrenaline-filled Article 15, Ayushmann has plenty of other films on his plate. His upcoming film Bala, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam, is all set to release in November. In Bala, Ayushmann plays the role of a prematurely balding man.
Recently, the team behind Shubh Mangal Saavdhan announced that the movie will be getting a sequel titled Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan which will revolve around gay relationships and will star Ayushmann himself.
