Amitabh Bachchan recently joined Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Manali to shoot for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. The actor took to his blog to write about the “the winter feel, the purity hopefully of the air” of Manali. Describing the destination he wrote, “there is great humility and joy of felicitations en route.. the simplicity of the smaller town reigns supreme.. as does the generous hospitality...”

He concluded with the words, “I must retire.. the head is thinking something else and the fingers another.. its a message,” which some took to mean that he’s considering quitting Bollywood for the quiet life. But we’re quite sure he just meant that he needed to rest after a long day!

Big B’s character will reportedly play a role in shaping the Ranbir’s Shiva, who can emit fire from his palms. “Amitabh Bachchan will be shooting in Manali for the next few days before he flies to a foreign location for another shoot in early December. The film’s antagonists, Mouni Roy and Saurav Gurjar, will also be part of the schedule,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.

Some photos of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in Manali have surfaced on social media.

A few days ago, Nagarjuna and Shah Rukh Khan were also brought on board for the film. The Telugu superstar will be playing the role of an archaeologist in the film which is touted to be a sci-fi/ fantasy trilogy. His character will be traveling to an ancient temple near the Ganges on an expedition, where he’ll meet Shiva and Isha (Ranbir and Alia). He has finished shooting for his portions.

Shah Rukh’s character, on the other hand, is VFX-driven. “Shooting against a green screen is something that most actors find difficult to adapt, but having worked in films like Ra One, Fan and Zero, SRK breezed through it. He joined the crew after his birthday and shot for three days. Some more days are left,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.
