He also said that the film is especially dedicated to his daughter. “Mission Mangal is a film which I hope will inspire as well as entertain. A film which I’ve done specially for my daughter and children her age to familiarise them with the incredible true story of India’s mission to Mars!”, Akshay captioned the photo.

A recent report in Bollywood Hungama suggested that the film’s release has been preponed from 15 to 9 August as it is clashing with John Abraham’s Batla House and Prabhas’ Saaho. Both these films could affect Mission Mangal’s box office performance and neither of their filmmakers seem to have any plans of changing their release dates.

However, putting all speculations to rest, Taran Adarsh has tweeted that the film will hit theatres on 15 August.

Mission Mangal is inspired by India’s 2013 Mars space programme Mangalyaan.
