Akshay Kumar has shared the first glimpse of his look from his upcoming film Laxmmi Bomb, calling his character one he is “both excited and nervous about”. He tweeted, “Navratri is about bowing to the inner goddess and celebrating your limitless strength. On this auspicious occasion, I am sharing with you my look as Laxmmi. A character I am both excited and nervous about but then live begins at the end of our comfort zone, isn’t it?”
The actor had teased his look earlier with a poster of his character putting on eyeliner.
Directed by Raghava Lawrence, Laxmmi Bomb also stars Kiara Advani. The film is based on Tamil horror comedy Kanchana, which features Raghava Lawrence, Sarath Kumar and Raai Laxmi. It tells the tale of vengeful ghosts who haunt an innocent man in pursuit of justice for their murders. Akshay plays the protagonist who gets possessed by the spirit of a transgender person with Kiara as his love interest.
The production of Laxmmi Bomb ran into a roadblock when Lawrence stepped away from the project in May, less than a month after it went on floors. The director explained that he made the decision because he felt “disrespected and disappointed” that the first look poster of the film had been released without his knowledge. He announced his return to the project in June after meeting with Akshay Kumar and the film’s producers.
