Akshay Kumar turned 50 on 9 September. And his fans, who call themselves “Akkians” decided to make his birthday special for the underprivileged. They organised health check-up camps, donated books and snacks at orphanages across India.

In a country where we waste milk on superstars (50,000 litres of milk was wasted on posters of Rajinikanth during the release of his film, Kabali), this is certainly a better way for fans to appreciate their favourite stars.
