‘Ab Tak Chhappan’ Writer Ravishankar Alok Dies by Suicide 

According to investigations, Alok was suffering from depression and was undergoing psychiatric treatment.

A 32-year-old screenplay writer allegedly committed suicide in Mumbai on 11 July. Ravishankar Alok, a resident of Seven Bungalows area in Andheri (W), jumped off from the roof of the building where he lived at around 2 PM, a police official said. No suicide note was found.

Alok was reportedly involved in the writing of Nana Patekar’s Ab Tak Chhappan.

According to preliminary investigations, Alok was suffering from depression and was undergoing psychiatric treatment.

According to the society’s watchman, the writer's parents recently stayed with him for a couple of days before leaving for Patna, and his brother who lives with him, was not at home. He didn’t know how Alok managed to get access to the terrace which remains locked.

Deputy police commissioner (Zone 9) Paramjit Singh Dahiya said that an accidental death report has been filed.
