Aamir Khan has put to rest speculations about his next move after his 2018 film Thugs of Hindostan failed at the box office. In an interaction with the media on his birthday, he announced his next project titled Lal Singh Chadha which will be a remake of Hollywood hit Forrest Gump. He revealed that he will play a sardar in the film and is set to lose 20 kgs to prepare for the role.
Trade analayst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on Twitter, adding that the film will be directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar fame and written by Atul Kulkarni.
The original 1994 comedy-drama starred Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. In the film, Hanks plays Forrest, a man from Alabama who witnesses and unknowingly influences several pivotal moments in history.
Aamir, who turned 54 on 14 March, is also reportedly working on a web series based on the Mahabharata though an official announcement is yet to be made.
