The trailer of Excel Entertainment’s 3 Storeys, directed by newcomer Arjun Mukerjee weaves disparate narratives at three levels of a chawl in Mumbai into what seems like a thrilling yarn.
The film that brings Fukrey actors Richa Chadha and Pulkit Samrat together also gives us the gift of a new avatar of Renuka Shahane. She looks on point as Flory Mendonca.
Sharman Joshi and Masumeh appear on screen after a long time and make for a refreshing pairing. As the music amps up in the trailer, we are left with hints that this is not a run of the mill, slice-of-life, urban tale but one with twists and sub-plots and themes that swirl around different communities. It also stars first time young actors Aisha Ahmed and Ankit Rathi.
The makers are releasing independent trailers of the stories as well.
The lines mouthed by the narrator - “Filmo me zindagi kitni hi superhit kyun na dikhein, real life may sab kuch ulta seedha hi toh hota hai na,” also suggest that happy endings may not be in order.
The film is slated to release on 9 March.
