Dil Chahta Hai is a cult classic and one of the most memorable films of the early 2000s. The film also kick-started the career of Farhan Akhtar, who made his directorial debut with the film, in 2001.
Apart from the fresh treatment and performances, the film is also remembered for its songs, composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. As the film completed 18 years yesterday, 24 July, actor Preity Zinta took to her Instagram account to share a snippet from the song Jaane Kyun, which features her alongside Aamir Khan, and said that she “loved every bit of it.”
"Jane kyun ye film meri favourite films ki list me hai (Don’t know why but this film is on my list of favourite films). Thank you @faroutakhtar @_aamirkhan @farahkhankunder, Saif @akshaye_khanna & the entire caste and crew for making this film such a fun and memorable experience! Loved every bit of it,” Preity captioned the video.
Dil Chahta Hai was a coming of age story of three friends, played by Aamir, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna. The film also starred Sonali Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia. Director of the film, Farhan Akhtar, was 27 years old when the film released.
