Vote banks work in myriad ways and ahead of the upcoming elections, and political parties are doing all they can to ensure they have the maximum leverage. Even as CM Devendra Fadnavis is roping in Bollywood celebrities, Shiv Sena has got on board popular music composer and playback singer Shankar Mahadevan to teach music in BMC schools in Mumbai. Both Mahadevan and Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray took to social media to announce the news.
According to a report by Mid-Day, BMC-run schools in Shiv Sena bastions like Dadar, Matunga, Worli and Prabhadevi have been selected for the project.
Initially, he will be teaching for eight weeks, January 10 onwards. Around four schools have been selected so far, where he will be teaching music. Besides students from Std I-V, Mahadevan will also train teachers in these schools. We already have music classes in all BMC schools for students from Std 8 to 10.Mahesh Palkar, BMC Education Officer, as told to Mid-Day
