Amid reports that French DJ David Guetta's concert has been called off in Mumbai, the organisers had said that the event will happen as per schedule tonight (13 January).

But according to a media report permission for the gig was rejected as mandatory requirements were not met. This had led to confusion over whether the Mumbai concert will be held r not.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that the venue of Guetta’s Delhi NCR concert has been shifted from the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida to the JLN Stadium in Delhi.

A few days after we announced the venue, the dates for the UP Assembly elections were announced. The election date in Noida is 11 February, and you are not supposed to hold large gatherings in the city from a month before that. So, we decided to shift the venue to JLN Stadium.

The Mumbai concert is now being held in the Jio Gardens in Bandra Kurla Complex, instead of the Mahalaxmi Race Course.

We were considering both the venues, and it’s just that the change happened at the last minute.

Earlier, the 13 January concert had been cancelled in Mumbai and conflicting reports came of the concert still happening from Sunburn, the organisers of the event.

According to a report in ANI, permission for David Guetta’s concert got rejected as mandatory requirements and legal formalities were not completed.

Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had denied permission for the ‘Sunburn Arena’ event that was to be organised at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. The organisers then shifted the venue to Reliance Jio Garden at BKC.

But Mumbai Police had earlier said that the David Guetta’s concert is as per schedule in Mumbai but permission formalities had not been completed as yet.

The event’s spokesperson told PTI,

“The Mumbai concert has not been cancelled. It is happening as per the schedule. We have just changed the venue for the event and now we have all necessary permission to do the concert at Jio garden.”

The 49-year-old DJ's concert in Bengaluru was cancelled yesterday over concerns of law and order. The organisers cited “law and order situation” following the molestation incident during New Year’s Eve as the reason.

Bengaluru was supposed to be Guetta’s first stop on his four-city tour. He is slated to perform in Mumbai this evening, in Hyderabad on Saturday and in Delhi on Sunday.

Sunburn is one of India's biggest electronic dance music festivals, which is organising the Guetta charity concerts.
