So okay, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has grown up, or so we thought. Well, they’ve at least stopped frowning at live-in relationships as depicted in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Befikre and now OK Jaanu.
But, when it comes to the sex act the CBFC still has its own peculiar dos and don’ts. Meaning, you can…. ummm… do it but don’t talk about it.
This is what Shradha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor discovered when their love-making scenes in OK Jaanu were tampered with by the board.
For starters, some of the pushing, shoving, heavy breathing in bed during the Humma Humma song and elsewhere has been censored.
Never mind if the couple is living in sin, but they are not to say , “Yeh (sex) bahut bada paap hai aur baar-baar karne se dhul jaata hai”. This dialogue which appears in the trailer has been reportedly censored from the film.
The strongest objection from the CBFC came for a dialogue where after sex Aditya’s character Adi tells Shradha’s character about accidental pregnancy, “Lekin Tara, humney toh saarey calculations kiye tthe.”
The CBFC has reportedly objected to this line as being superstitious and hypothetical. The line has now been replaced with a declaration on avoiding pregnancy. So, “Tara, humne saare protection liye tthe na?” is the new line approved by the board.
Says a source close to the film, “The board didn’t object to the live-in relationship. But some of the dialogues and the excessive touchy-feely shots got to them. Producer Karan Johar happily made the changes, relieved that this film won’t court any controversies.”
