Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur’s secret ‘buddy’ code on Koffee With Karan reminds us of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan’s dostana. They’re adorable, candid, unflinchingly mean to each other and we love it. There’s a lot we didn’t know about these young stars, but Karan Johar never fails to ask the right questions on our behalf.
While Parineeti can quote dialogue after dialogue from Karan Johar’s movies, Aditya barely even knows Sholay. There’s a lot more you didn’t know about this gorgeous duo, so here goes-
1. Why Pari & Aditya Will Never Date
Apart from the fact that they share an intense bromance, Pari and Aditya will never have romantic feelings for each other simply because they know too much. Pari knows Aditya’s lazy side all too well and Aditya gives her gyan about her weight. Pari takes it sportingly well. She tells Karan how with a straight face Aditya will say rude things like “you gotta work on your hips”, but she knows he means well.
2. Relationship Status
Parineeti Chopra is very clear about the fact that she would like to date a non-actor. Aditya Roy Kapur on the other hand is currently in the ‘chill’ zone where he’s not looking for anything serious. Interestingly, Pari’s logic behind wanting to date a non-Bollywood guy is that she wants to her partner to obsess over her, which she thinks, is impossible for an actor to be capable of, since they’re mostly busy obsessing over themselves. Now that’s as real and candid as it gets. Aditya cleverly dodges the ‘love’ question and doesn’t quite bother to refute his ‘philanderer’ image. He grins about it though.
3. Why Katrina Is Scary
Both Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur admitted on the show that they’re a little scared of Katrina Kaif. Karan is perplexed and asks, “But Katrina is lovely!”. She is, but she’s also very professional and particular about keeping fit. Pari goes on to say that while she was touring with the Dream Team, she would be petrified of Katrina. The gorgeous senior would tell Pari to workout with her and would make her put in a lot more work. But Aditya and Pari both love her for caring enough to do that.
4. Why Parineeti Would Happily Kill Varun Dhawan
Pari could kill Varun Dhawan, and she said so herself! She admits that his energy is too much for her to take, and the one thing about him that annoys her the most is that he likes to be the centre of attention, wherever he goes. But this is a love-hate relationship she clarifies. She loves him because he’s a ton of fun to be around. But when it comes to work, she finds it impossible to match his energy levels and attention to detail.
5. Dealing With Flops
Both Pari and Aditya have faced box-office ups and downs in their brand new careers. On Koffee With Karan, they speak openly about how much of a set back a failure can be. For Pari it was much harder to deal with the tanking of Dawaat-e-Ishq and Kill Dill, because she was also at a low point in her personal life at the time. But she talks about how she bounced back, thanks to her pillars of strength, one of whom she is sharing the couch with. For Aditya, the box-office failure of a grand film like Fitoor was quite a shock too. But he decided to dig his teeth into whatever came next and just kept his chin up. Their conversation about dealing with failures is heartening. As public figures they have a lot more riding on their success, than us regular folk. They speak openly about being depressed and coping with it. Hearteningly candid.
