Has all the noise against Pakistani actors working in India given the team of Koffee With Karan cold feet? The upcoming fifth season of the popular celebrity talk show by filmmaker Karan Johar was reportedly scheduled to have Fawad Khan as its first guest. But now according to an entertainment portal, the episode featuring the Pakistani actor will no longer be the show’s premiere this season. Fawad’s episode has apparently been replaced with an episode featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, who will be promoting their film Dear Zindagi.

Fawad played one of the leads in Kapoor and Sons produced by Karan Johar this year. The actor also features in KJo’s much awaited Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which is scheduled for a Diwali release in October. Though Karan has been promoting Fawad, he might not want to harm the release of his own film in the bargain at a time when political groups like the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have demanded that Pakistani actors leave India.

However, a source close to the filmmaker says that Fawad Khan was never supposed to be the first guest on Koffee With Karan anyway.

Almost every season of the show premiered with Shah Rukh Khan as the guest (except the last season which kicked off with Salman Khan), so we’re guessing Karan is just going to stick to tradition this time.
