The very idea of two mighty superheroes coming to loggerheads is nothing less than supremely exciting. With Batman v Superman about to hit theatres worldwide riding on massive expectations, we thought of making a desi version of the same tale, albeit with the proper peppering of Bollywood masala. Yes, the inspirations are real, and the tale will be nothing less than tantalizing, we promise you.
Let’s start with the action. Shall we?
Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Salman Khan’s penchant for the former Miss World is widely documented, a fixation that actually led to a huge fight between two colossal Khans, Salman and SRK, for real. So if Salman plays the superhuman forever pining for his Wonder Woman Aishwarya, our very dear SRK can be the dark knight.
Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan & Filmfare
Aamir’s heart-in-his-sleeve ruffian act in Rangeela was genuinely heartwarming, and it stands as one of his earnest performances. Ironically, this was the same year when SRK turned over a new leaf with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, and unfairly won the Filmfare award for Best Actor. As a result, Aamir shunned all awards, and Filmfare is still begging him to come back. Make SRK the swooning, flying Clark Kent, Aamir the masked vigilante of justice, and the Filmfare black lady our perennial Wonder Woman torn between the two heroes.
Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor & Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone, ex lover of one, and the current flame of another, continues her charade as the leading love with both on screen. Ranveer with good-humored muscles can justifiably be our Superman, Ranbir with his bottled emotions our Batman, and Deepika, the wondrously beautiful will be our Wonder Woman. Need we say more?
Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgan & Kajol
Shah Rukh’s chemistry with Kajol is for the book of legends and the cold vibe he shares with Kajol’s husband Ajay Devgn, is no secret either. If Kajol decides to be the giggly Wonder Woman, SRK can again be our Superman sweeping her away with his charm, and Ajay can be our tormented, angst-riddled Batman.
Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan & Alia Bhatt
Since their debut in Student of the Year, the trio continue to make news for their on and off chemistry. The coast is still not clear. Siddharth being the taller dude is our Man of Steel, Varun is our caped crusader, and Alia is perfect as the lasso lady of the selfie generation. Yes, yes, it’s our teeny-weeny version of a superhero battle.
