Junglee Pictures’ Talvar (titled Guilty in English) has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival 2015 under the ‘Special Presentations’ category.

According to the producers, Talvar (earlier titled Nyodda) directed by Meghna Gulzar is a fictional dramatization of true life events revolving around the Aarushi Talwar murder case investigation. The film is co-produced by VB Pictures and written by Vishal Bhardwaj.

Tavlar stars Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sensharma, Neeraj Kabi, and Soham Shah, with Tabu making a special appearance.

What makes Talvar significant is that the script of the film has reportedly been vetted by Aarushi’s parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, thereby making it the first and only big screen version of the Aarushi-Hermraj murder case to be made with the family’s consent.

Another Indian film that made it to the TIFF 2015 selection list is Parched by Leena Yadav starring Tannishta Chatterjee.
