Anushka never wanted to be an actress, she was a top model in Bangalore and then fashion designer Wendell Rodricks asked her to walk the ramp for him at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. And that is how Anushka came to the City of Dreams.

Anushka’s Big Break
After few modelling assignments she got a call for a film audition. Surprised and disinterested, Anushka was forced by her modelling agency to go for the audition. She was asked to play Kajol from DDLJ for the audition.
The next time she was called in, Aditya Chopra met her and gave Anushka the news which changed her life forever. She was the lead in his next film Rab Ne Banadi Jodi! But the shocker was yet to come, Aditya then broke the news that she would star opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
A numb Anushka walked out of the Yash Raj office, started her blue Swift and drove away. After a short drive she parked her car beside the road as it finally hit her that her life will never be the same again. She called her mom and tears rolled down her eyes as she gave her mother the wonderful news.

Anushka is a star now, she has worked with all the A-listers in the industry, owns a five bedroom apartment in Mumbai and not to forget those luxurious cars. But Anushka has never been able to let go of the Blue Swift she sat and cried in when she got her first film.

So how do you picture Anushka during her college days? Brat? Uninterested in studies and partying all night with other upcoming models? Actually, Anushka went to Mount Carmel College in Bangalore and she was an absolute nerd. Yes! You read it right. Anushka was extremely competitive and was always among the toppers in college.
The actress started modeling at the age of 15. While her friends would hang out after college she would be working. And her parents most often pick her up after her ramp shows. Anushka was never the partying kind.
Nushki is what Anushka was called by her close friends. She did have admirers but none of the boys dared to approach her thanks to her big brother, Karnesh Sharma.
Anushka, the Foodie
There were reports on her being anorexic, but the truth is - Anushka has always been a thin girl and she is one of those lucky people who don’t have to do much to maintain their figure because of high metabolism.
She is a complete foodie and drives her mother crazy as she is hungry every two hours. Yes, till date she only eats food cooked by her mom even after having cooks at home. The cooks are for her parents not for her!
Anushka loves cooking and is a good cook too. Whenever she gets time, she cooks for her family under Mommy’s guidance.
Anushka Sharma is a star but she also has her fan girl moments. The actress is a huge fan of, none other than, Kareena Kapoor!
