Haryana's Marora village in Mewat is better known to people as 'Trump village' – named after the US president. The village has been adopted by Bindeshwar Pathak's organisation 'Sulabh' – which is famous for construction of toilets.
Out of the 165 houses in the village, most residents are daily-wage workers and face several difficulties in their everyday life. For instance, despite NGOs building toilets in the village, villagers are used to defecating in the open. Also, according to the central groundwater board report, Mewat has access to less than 30% potable water. The way to the village's primary school remains unpaved and there is no proper drainage system either.
This secluded village has little hope from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Will this election be able to bring about 'vikas' in this village? Watch the full video to know more.
