Senior Congress Leader Anand Sharma on Sunday urged the Election Commission to take note of Prime Minister Modi’s alleged divisive comments made at a rally in Fatehpur.
Speaking at the rally, the PM said:
If a village receives funds for a graveyard, then it should also get funds for a cremation ground... If you provide uninterrupted power supply for Eid, then you should also do it for Holi.

Election Commission Seizes Record Rs 38.40 Crore in Cash
The election commission has said that it seized Rs 38.40 crore in cash and over 2.04 lakh litres of liquor during the third phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. In addition, narcotics worth Rs 17.50 lakh was also seized by the authorities.
No Differences Within the Family, Says Prateek Yadav
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Prateek Yadav condemned the controversy which saw his mother – Sadhana Yadav – being blamed for the infighting within the Samajwadi Party.
Prateek, who is the younger brother of the UP CM, said:
There were differences only in the party and not inside our family...My mother has love and affection for the entire family. I condemn the controversy which was created by dragging her name.
