ABP News-Nielsen exit poll has predicted that the BJP-led NDA will cross the halfway mark and get 277 seats of the 542 seats. The UPA is expected to win 130 seats.
The BJP had won 282 seats in 2014 and is projected to win 227 seats in 2019. While the grand old party had won just 44 seats in 2014 and is predicted to win 87 seats.
The saffron party is expected to face losses in Uttar Pradesh, a state that the BJP has swept in the 2014 elections by winning 71 of the 80 seats, and Maharashtra. However, the BJP is expected to make up some of those losses in West Bengal and Odisha.
