At least two exit poll surveys have predicted a huge win for the Mahagathbandhan in Uttar Pradesh while Times Now survey has predicted a clean sweep for the BJP in the state.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won 71 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, securing 42.63 percent of the votes. BJP ally Apna Dal bagged two.
Elections to 542 seats of the Lok Sabha ended Sunday. The majority mark is 272.
The Samajwadi Party had won five seats with a vote share of 22.35 percent. The BSP did not win any seat while securing 19.77 percent votes. The Congress registered wins on two UP seats, bagging 7.53 percent of the votes.

In the predictions on the basis of data received till 4 pm on 19 May, Mahagathbandhan (MGB) is expected to upset the BJP in Uttar Pradesh as the alliance of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) may win 40 seats and the BJP can come down to 38 from 71 it had won in 2014.

According to Times Now’s survey, the BJP could win 58 seats along with its alliance partner Apana Dal.
