Lok Sabha Elections: Which Constituencies Are Voting in Phase 6?

Here’s a full list of constituencies voting in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Voting for the sixth phase of the seven-phase Lok Sabha election will be held on Sunday, 12 May, with 60 constituencies spread across eight states casting their ballot.

The states where voters are casting their ballots are: Bihar (8 parliamentary constituencies), Delhi (7), Haryana (10), Jharkhand (4), Uttar Pradesh (14) and West Bengal (8), Madhya Pradesh (8), Tripura (1).

The sixth phase will see polling being held in:

NCT of Delhi

Delhi is up for a three-way battle on all seven Lok Sabha seats in the sixth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

One of the most watched out for contest is taking place North East Delhi where Congress’ three-time chief minister Sheila Dikshit will be fighting against BJP's sitting MP Manoj Tiwari and Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Dilip Pandey.

One of AAP’s most popular faces Atishi will take on BJP’s star candidate and cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir and Congress’s Arvind Singh Lovely in East Delhi, in another key contest in the national capital.

The seven seats voting in Delhi are:

  1. Chandni Chowk
  2. North East Delhi
  3. East Delhi
  4. New Delhi
  5. North West Delhi
  6. West Delhi
  7. South Delhi

Bihar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had in 2014 won all the eight seats going to polls in Bihar, on Sunday, 12 May.

The state will also go to polls in the seventh and final phase on 19 May.

The eight seats voting in Bihar are:

  1. Valmiki Nagar
  2. Paschim Champaran
  3. Purvi Champaran
  4. Sheohar
  5. Vaishali
  6. Gopalganj
  7. Siwan
  8. Maharajganj

Haryana

All ten Lok Sabha seats of Haryana will vote on 12 May. In the 2014 polls, the BJP had won seven seats, the Indian National Lok Dal bagged two, while the Congress could win only one seat in the state.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the sitting Congress MLA from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi in Rohtak, is contesting the parliamentary polls from Sonipat and is pitted against BJP's sitting MP Ramesh Chander Kaushik and Jannayak Janata Party's (JJP) Digvijay Singh Chautala.

The Aam Aadmi Party, which is in alliance with the JJP, has fielded candidates from Ambala, Karnal and Faridabad in Haryana.

The 10 seats voting in Haryana are:

  1. Ambala
  2. Kurukshetra
  3. Sirsa
  4. Hisar
  5. Karnal
  6. Sonipat
  7. Rohtak
  8. Bhiwani-Mahendragarh
  9. Gurgaon
  10. Faridabad

Jharkhand

Cricketer-turned-politician and rebel BJP leader Kirti Azad, who recently joined Congress will be contesting from Dhanbad seat in Jharkhand. He will take on BJP strongman Pashupati Nath Singh, who has held the seat since 2009.

The four seats voting in Jharkhand are:

  1. Giridih
  2. Dhanbad
  3. Jamshedpur
  4. Singhbhum

Madhya Pradesh

As the Congress is looking to recreate the victory of the Assembly polls held in late 2018, the two of the most watched constituencies – Bhopal and Guna – are going to polls in this phase.

BJP candidate Pragya Thakur, out on bail in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, will take on former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.

Congress General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was made in-charge of Uttar Pradesh earlier this year will be fighting from Guna. The BJP has fielded KP Yadav, a former Congressman who joined the saffron party earlier this year after being denied ticket for Mungaoli Assembly bypoll.

The eight seats that will be voting in Madhya Pradesh are:

  2. Bhind
  3. Gwalior
  4. Guna
  5. Sagar
  6. Vidisha
  7. Bhopal
  8. Rajgarh

Uttar Pradesh

In the sixth phase of polling, Uttar Pradesh will see key contests in the Azamgarh and Sultanpur Lok Sabha constituencies.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is up against BJP candidate Bhojpuri star Dinesh Lal Yadav. In Sultanpur, Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, who is a sitting MP from Philibit, is seeking re-election.

The state will also go to polls in the seventh phase.

The 14 seats voting in Uttar Pradesh are:

West Bengal

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee trading barbs, the election fever is at an all-time high in the state.

The Trinamool Congress had won all the eight seats going to polls in the sixth phase, with the BJP seeking to make inroads.

The eight seats voting in West Bengal are:

  2. Kanthi
  3. Ghatal
  4. Jhargram
  5. Medinipur
  6. Purulia
  7. Bankura
  8. Bishnupur

Tripura

The voting in as many as 168 polling booths of Tripura West Parliamentary constituency was declared void by the Election Commission, and will be held on 12 May.

The polls were originally held for the constituency in the first phase on 11 April.

Earlier, the Congress and CPI(M) had both lodged complaints of alleged large scale rigging and irregularities in the elections in the West Tripura constituency, reported news agency PTI.
