DU Colleges Release Cutoffs, Bar Lowered for Many Subjects

Good news for students as cutoffs for many subjects in some DU colleges have lowered since last year.

Admissions season is here again, with Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) declaring its first cutoff list, lowering the bar for BCom (Honours) and Economics (Honours) as compared to last year. For both subjects, the minimum requirement for entry this year is 97.75 percent. Rustagi told Hindustan Times:

This year’s data is more structured so we are able to announce the most accurate cutoff... This year we will close admissions in the first or second list.

Ramjas College

Many of the subjects at Ramjas College saw a decline in the minimum requirement for entry — between 0.25-2 percentage points, as compared to 2016.

Hansraj College

Hansraj College too lowered its cutoff for most subjects — only BA programme saw a higher minimum requirement.

Maharaja Agrasen

While Maharaja Agrasen College too lowered the bar for most subjects, the cutoff for the BA Programme was the same as last year, at 88 percent. Most other subjects saw a lower minimum requirement this year. The most major decline is in BSc Electronics, where the cutoff has been lowered by three percentage points.

Daulat Ram

Breaking away from the trend of the aforementioned colleges, some subjects in Daulat Ram saw a rise in cutoff, as compared to 2016. English (Honours), at 97 percent this year, is one such subject.

Sri Aurobindo College

This college did not deviate too much from its 2016 cutoff list. English (Honours) and BCom (Honours) stayed the same at 92 percent and 95 percent, respectively.
