As the Omicron-led third wave in India continues to slow down, the country reported 67,597 new COVID-19 cases, 1,80,456 recoveries, and 1,188 deaths on Tuesday, 8 February.
Mumbai, in a minor rise, detected 447 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
Active cases currently stand at 9,94,891, while the daily positivity rate has come down to 5.02 percent.
Meanwhile, schools were reopened on Monday, for students of Classes 9-12 in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, and Bihar.

As per a Supreme Court order citing the decline in infections, the court will resume physical hearings on Wednesdays and Thursdays from next week

Delhi reported a slight dip in in daily cases, recording 1,114 new infections, 12 fatalities and 2,079 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Active cases in the national capital stand at 6,908.

Bengal Logs in 736 New Cases
West Bengal detected 736 new COVID-19 cases, 1,559 recoveries, and 32 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Karnataka Reports 4,452 New Cases
Karnataka reports 4,452 new cases, 19,067 recoveries and 51 deaths in the last 24 hours. Active cases in the state stand at 72,414.
