A report in The New York Times has stated that Chris Evans may not be returning to The Avengers franchise after the fourth film. Scheduled for reshoots later this year, the untitled project is hoping for a 2019 release. Hinting about his exit, Evans stated that “you want to get off the train before they push you off”.
Chris Evans has played Steve Rogers, the shield-wielding Captain America, since Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011.
Of course, Twitter has not taken to this kindly.
Chris Evans will be seen in Avengers: Infinity War in 2019.
