Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Mandana Karimi got married in a lavish ceremony this January, and already, there seems to be trouble in paradise. After facing several marital issues, it is being reported that the model-turned-actress has filed a domestic violence complaint and is asking her beau, Gaurav Gupta Rs 10 lakh per month as a maintenance amount for her basic needs and requirements.
According to a report in Mid-day, citing the the trauma and agony she has gone through along with the loss of career and business, Karimi is also asking for a compensation of Rs 2 crore.
When contacted by Mid-Day, Mandana said,
I was thrown out of my matrimonial house seven weeks ago. I made desperate attempts to reconcile with them, but my in-laws didn’t allow me back. Gaurav has cut me off.
She also states that Gaurav wasn’t the only one traumatising her, that her in-laws too were to be blamed. One of the main reasons for this separation seems to be that Gupta insisted on her conversion to Hinduism ahead of their wedding. Mandana Karimi, of Iranian descent, was also asked to quit her acting career as the occupation was deemed “incompatible with his family's status in the society”.
The actress even posted this Instagram post two days back.
