“I live my life a quarter mile at a time,” says Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) in the very first edition of the Fast and Furious franchise. But that quarter mile has now gone on for miles and miles, with the cars in every edition getting even faster and more furious.

Fast and Furious 8 – The Fate of the Furious released this weekend, and true to expectations, it features some hyper-modified cars doing some pretty incredulous stuff stretching from Cuba to Iceland. So just what do these cars look like in real life?

In the 8th edition of the movie, Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel is again driving a Dodge Charger. But this time, the car is highly modified to drive on ice. Actually, it was custom built for the movie and features a Chevrolet V8 motor under the hood, putting out 554 bhp of power and features all-wheel drive with spiked tyres.

In the early part of the movie, Diesel is also seen driving a beaten up 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline that he “modifies” by making it lighter and rigging up a NOS kit.

The new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon makes an appearance in the movie as well. This car has a 6.2 litre V8 engine that puts out 840 bhp of power and can go from 0-100 kmph in just 2.3 seconds! And as Dom wanted a “sub-10 second car”, this stock car can do the quarter-mile in just 2.3 seconds.
