Luckily for us, Ayushmann Khurrana seems to have a nose for quirky stories and characters. He had given us the delightful Vicky Donor and Dum Laga Ke Haisha earlier. Now he is back tackling erectile dysfunction with Bhumi Pednekar in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

Set in small town India, the story revolves around two “uncool” people, Mudit and Sugandha - their romantic dreams, the consequent uncommon courtship and the battle of the families. Add to that clever innuendos, some really funny lines and a range of superb supporting characters - and we, hopefully, have a winner on our hands.

Also, hang on... the trailer tells us why premarital sex is actually a good idea. (Think about it.)

For starters, it’s awesome to find a Bollywood leading man not afraid to associate himself with the issue of erectile dysfunction. Ayushmann always manages to infuse his characters with an un-macho charm and honesty, and Mudit seems no different. Bhumi’s Sugandha is a woman who knows what she wants.

It remains to be seen how sensitively - or not - this really important issue is dealt with in the film. And we are really, really curious about how the bear comes into the plot.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is the remake of Tamil comedy, Kalyana Samayal Saadham. RS Prasanna, who also directed the original, is directing the Hindi version as well.
