Farhan Akhtar has just shared the trailer of his upcoming film Lucknow Central, and by the look of it, it’s going to be a compelling watch. Revolving around Moradabad boy Kishan Mohan Girhotra, who dreams of his own music band but lands up in the dreaded Lucknow Central Jail, the trailer promises some good music as well as gritty action.
What will ‘kaidi no. 1821’ choose - music or freedom? Check out the trailer here:
As a small-town guy with big dreams, Farhan Akhtar seems to be in great form as he teams up with Diana Penty, Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Ronit Roy, Rajesh Sharma and others for the film. Based on true events, it is directed by debutant Ranjit Tiwari.
Incidentally, the film would also see the comeback of the very popular Kaawan Kaawan number from Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding. A definite party-starter if there was one, the song has been given a second lease of life by Divya Kumar, who has sung to the composition of Arjunna Harjaie. It uses mouth and body percussion - since there are no musical instruments in prison - and it has been choreographed by Bosco. Producer Nikkhil Advani told Mumbai Mirror in an interview that the number works as an “anthem” and has “panned out really well”.
We sure can’t wait to hear this one!
Lucknow Central is slated to release on 15 September.
