Salman Khan launched the autobiography of Asha Parekh, The Hit Girl, with well known author and journalist Khalid Mohamed. Also present at the vintage evening were her contemporaries Dharmendra, Jitendra, Helen, Waheeda Rehman and many more renowned artistes from Bollywood’s glorious era – the 60s and 70s. Not only has Salman penned the foreword of the book, he also encouraged everyone to read the autobiography for personal growth.

I think it’s the bravest thing for anyone to write an autobiography. I bet I’ll never be able to do it. I think Dharam ji will understand that. We’ve known Asha ji since we were kids. She’s been very dear to us. Waheeda aunty... we live in the same compound. Helen aunty and my mother, they’ve all been so close, which girls today should understand. It’s something that you don’t see anymore.

I think it’s the best quality that that generation had and we have lost that quality. We become friends again, but they were never not friends since the time they came into the movie industry. I’m really pleased that I’m here and go buy the book because this generation has lived the cleanest life possible, professionally and personally. It would be a book of values and principles. It’ll have its highs, it’ll have its lows, it’ll have its fun moments, it’ll have the whole career graph. I think this is something you must read because it’ll only elevate you as a person.

Looks like Salman even got a little emotional sitting next to the legendary Asha Parekh.

The graceful actor thanked Salman for contributing to her book with these kind words-

‘Achha Toh Hum Chalte Hain…’ went the lyrics of one of her songs. She can never say goodbye really. Because movie stars may come and go but Asha Parekh will remain in our hearts forever.
