The Koffee Awards for the Best of Koffee With Karan were announced on Sunday night, and Karan Johar got a team of Bollywood insiders for his panel of judges. Here’s a look at who made it to Karan’s jury on last night’s episode.
- Malaika Arora,
- Neha Dhupia
- Rohan Joshi
- Ayan Mukherjee
Take a quick look at the categories and winners from Koffee With Karan last night.
Best Dressed Male
This one saw a tie between Ranbir and Shahid, with Aditya Roy Kapoor coming a close second.
Best Dressed Female
Priyanka seemed to be the popular choice here for her Fendi dress.
Best Debut
Twinkle and Jackie walked away with one each because the judges weren’t able to decide who to go with. Finally, they generously decided to hand it to both by technically splitting the category to ‘male’ and ‘female’.
Best Actor in a Comic Role
Varun Dhawan was declared the funniest guest on season 5 of Koffee With Karan, personally I thought that both Ranveer and Ranbir deserved this one.
Special Koffee Award
There were no nominees here, Arjun Kapoor was given away the honour for making 4 appearances on this season.
Lifetime Achievement on Koffee With Karan
Kareena Kapoor Khan bagged this one for being a part of every season of Koffee With Karan with a different guest - her husband, her ex, her competition and so on.
Best Line
This seemed to be heading for a tie between Sohail and Kangana, but the Khan finally won it for his self-deprecatory punch line on the 100th episode, in which he appeared with his brothers Salman and Arbaaz. Sohail wittily equated the 100 with Salman, him and Arbaaz as ‘one’ ‘zero’ ‘zero’ respectively.
Best Performing Female
Katrina Kaif took home this one because she broke the shackles of her image as an ‘ice maiden’ with some of her candid comments and responses.
Best Performing Male
There largely seemed to be a consensus on this though Shah Rukh Khan too came close, but Salman’s affable and easy attitude including his “Jaffar” anecdote won the votes.
Best Episode
Though Karan’s personal favourite episodes were - the Ranveer-Ranbir one and the Anushka-Katrina one, the jury zeroed in on the Khan brothers episode as the best of the lot.
Karan ended the episode with a repartee to Kangana, by saying that none of his ‘students’ got the big awards, and so he wasn’t exactly the flag-bearer of nepotism.
