It’s a delightful time for Hindi movies. A new generation of writers and directors seem to be slowly but steadily redefining its milieu. Take Avinash Das’s Anaarkali of Aarah for instance. The trailer of the film, starring Swara Bhaskar, Sanjay Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi, has just been released and it’s such a delight!
Anaarkali of Aarah revolves around a singer Anaarkali (Swara), who sings and dances to songs full of innuendos and is a star in the small town. Trouble strikes when the spunky girl is molested on an open stage by a powerful thug (the incomparable Sanjay Mishra) and she refuses to take it lying down.
It’s a familiar story that pops up in our newspapers frequently and the trailer promises another kickass performance by Swara as the nautch girl who fights back. Watch it here:
