Yogeshwar Dutt is one of the only three Indians to win an Olympic medal in freestyle wrestling. He debuted in the Athens Olympics in 2004, but failed to make a mark as he finished eighteenth.
But he didn’t let the failure dishearten him. Dutt prepared hard for the 2006 Doha Asian Games. Unfortunately, his father passed away nine days ahead of the Games. An emotional Dutt won a bronze medal at the tournament, which was his first medal at a major tournament.
He won his first gold medal during the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. However, his biggest success was in 2012, when he bagged a bronze at the London Olympics in Men’s freestyle 60 kg category.
He went on to grab gold medals in 2014 Commonwealth games in Glasgow and 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.
Take a look at Yogeshwar Dutt’s career on his 35th birthday in the above video.
