For the first time, Eidgah Aisbagh in Lucknow made provisions for women to offer Namaz. A special accommodation was made for women to listen to the khutbah and read namaz at the mosque to celebrate the end of the month of Ramzan.

Women have expressed joy regarding the decision. One of the women who was present at the mosque said that the women now can get the rights they are entitled to and are looking forward to more changes where women are given education and exposure.

The decision has also sparked debated among people in the community. Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan has also petitioned the Bombay High Court to lift the ban of women’s entry into Haji Ali Dargah.
