Woman Accuses Husband of Rape and Harassment Over Dowry

Abuses were tattooed on her by her husband and marital family to remind her of her humiliation.

In a shocking incident that took place in Alwar district, Rajasthan, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by her husband and his two brothers who later tattooed expletives on her forehead and hand after her family could not fulfill their dowry demand, police revealed on Monday.

The victim has alleged that since her marriage in January 2015, her husband and in-laws had taken to beating her as she could not fulfill their demand of dowry of Rs 51,000.
