Hola women! There is an alternative to pads and tampons for period protection! And it’s safer, environment-friendly and healthier too!

Menstrual cups. Heard of them? Nope? Neither did these three clueless men from The Quint who were handed out the silicone shaped conical cups which are worn inside the vagina to collect the menstrual flow.

Before you go all squeamish, read this: In her lifetime, one woman disposes 12,000-15,000 sanitary pads and this is non-biodegradable, toxic waste which no one wants to touch!

Menstrual cups have been around from 6 years in India, but awareness about them is really low. In this video, we didn’t tell the men anything about the cups, blindfolded them and asked them to identify the product and its use. Men being men came up with rather creative possibilities. Yeah guys, these could totally be “half condoms”!
