You know when a Salman Khan movie hits theatres. Even on a non holiday, people queue up to buy tickets and you will spot at least five of them sporting the famous Afghani scarf around their neck. And December 21 is no different with Tiger Zinda Hai hitting theatres - weekend slots are already sold out.
Opening to house full theatres, the first day first show of Salman Khan's film is being celebrated with much gusto across quarters. Fans of the actor are flocking to watch the film in droves - we have proof of it in the video!
Anticipation levels have been at a peak with Salman fans going into a frenzy. An ardent Salman fan bought 100 tickets at Gaiety Galaxy theatre in Mumbai for his friends and family members. He was even seen distributing few tickets to the actor’s fans for free. The iconic Bandra theatre witnessed fanatics from across town flocking to watch the first show of the film. The Quint went live from the venue:
A differently abled senior from Matunga was among the crowd to catch the early show. He said, " I usually don't go for movies, I am a handicapped person. I live in Mahim, but I watch all Salman Khan movies, first day first show. A lot of kids also skipped school to be a part of the audience.
In theatres in other parts of the country, Salman fans have been celebrating Bhai’s return to the screen on the streets. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. It’s based on the Malayalam film, Take Off, starring Parvathy, Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban.
The common denominator between the two is a real event. In 2014, a little after the Modi government came into power, 46 Indian nurses were held captive in Iraq by ISIS. Indian diplomatic officers pulled off a secretive and successful rescue operation in Saddam Hussein’s battle ravaged hometown, Tikrit.
